Mr COPE (WATSON, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I ask the Minister for Works a question. What will be the additional cost flowing from the Government's policy in failing to provide a runway at Mascot capable of handling Jumbo jets at the time the initial extension of the runway into Botany Bay was made? Is he able to say what costs will be incurred by having to re-engage the dredge previously employed in this work? Finally, will he give a prompt decision to refer the matter to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works so that necessary plans can be approved to have this project completed at the time the airlines are ready to introduce Jumbo jets?
