Mr FREETH (FORREST, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) (Minister for the Interior) - There is no foundation whatever for the story which became current in the Australian Capital Territory that these tenders were delayed for five months. Tenders will be called within the next few weeks, and I think the work will be begun within the normal period after the closing of the tenders. I cannot give any precise date, but the delay in calling tenders from the 2nd July, which was the date on the National Capital Development Commission's original programme, was only a delay of a few weeks until the commission knew exactly where it stood in the following year's programme.
