Mr BRYANT (WILLS, VICTORIA) - In directing a question to the Minister for Labour and National Service I point out that a few minutes ago he said that a certain large sum of money, an amount of about £20,000,000, had been released through the banks to local government authorities in' order to reduce unemployment. I ask him: Is there any evidence whatsoever that there has been a significant decline in the number of people registered as unemployed? In view of the fact that unemployment has been increasing at the rate of approximately 20,000 a year for the last' three years, at what figure would the Minister regard the problem as urgent enough to call for the kind of action from which we might see significant results?
