Mr DAVIDSON - I am aware of the existence of road blocks on the borders of Victoria and South Australia, established for the purpose of ensuring that there shall be no transference of fruit fly to those States, and I want to assure the honorable member that I have a very strong conception of the danger of anything which would tend towards the spread of fruit fly infestation into areas that are not afflicted. I cannot inform him offhand, however, of the precise provisions that exist in postal regulations for the inspection of parcels for this purpose. As the honorable member knows, the inspection of any postal matter is something which, for reasons of secrecy, we do not tolerate in the department. However, I shall make some inquiries into the point that he has raised and advise him accordingly.
