Mr WILSON (Sturt) - I propose to the House, for its Speaker, Mr. McLeay, and I move -

That the honorable member for Boothby (Mr. McLeay) do take the chair of this House as Speaker.

Mr Hamilton - I second the motion.

Mr McLeay - I accept nomination.

The Clerk - Is there any further proposal? (There being no further proposal) -

The Clerk - The time for proposals has expired, and I declare that the honorable member proposed, Mr. McLeay, has been elected as Speaker. (Members of the House then calling Mr. McLeay to the chair, he was taken out of his place by Mr. Wilson and Mr. Hamilton and' conducted to the chair) -
