Mr McMAHON - Yes, reports of unfavorable climatic conditions in the United Kingdom and western Europe have been received. It is, therefore, probable that the production of butter in those areas will be reduced. I should also like to state for the benefit of the House that the United Kingdom has already agreed to reduce by 40,000 tons per annum the quantity of butter imported. I think that this, together with the probable reduction of output in the United Kingdom and western Europe, should mean that prices will be somewhat better, or perhaps substantially better, than they would be if climatic conditions were normal.
