Mr GALVIN (KINGSTON, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - I ask the PostmasterGeneral: Was the Australian Broadcasting Control Board directed by the Government to investigate the applicants for television licences in Brisbane and Adelaide? Is it a fact that evidence, the transcript of which amounted to over 1,300 pages, was taken by the board and that certain recommendations were made by it to the Government? Were all the board's recommendations completely ignored, and was the board directed to re-examine the applications and to issue two licences in each of the two cities? Does the Government's decision indicate its lack of confidence in the members of the Australian Broadcasting Control Board, and is it intended to replace any of the members of the board by persons who are prepared to act as rubber stamps for the Government?
