Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Bowden (GIPPSLAND, VICTORIA) -Yes.

Mr ALLAN FRASER (EDEN-MONARO, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I was very interested afterwards to find that Opposition members who had heard the Minister shared the feeling of disgust which animated me at his performance. In this House, one learns to respect opponents who have completely different views but who express them honestly and with conviction. I feel that many members on the Government side had some disdain for the performance of the Minister, because it seemed clear to me - I think it must have been clear to the Minister himself - that many of his statements were false, that he must have known that the House knew they were false, and that the House knew that he knew that they were false when he made them, and that they were calculated, perhaps, to deceive some people outside.
