Mr HAYLEN (PARKES, NEW SOUTH WALES) - Did the Minister representing the Postmaster-General read in this morning's press the report of n statement by Lord Forrester, of Enfield Cables Limited, to the effect that there should be sufficient telephone cable in this country because the British Post Office had rationed cable so that quantities might be available for export? As, on the evidence, there is not sufficient cable in this country for new services, will the Minister ask the PostmasterGeneral to confer with Lord Forrester, with a view to ascertaining whether supplies of cable can be made available to the Commonwealth for urgent telephone connexions?
