Dr EVATT (BARTON, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Attorney-General) - The matter mentioned by the honorable member for Griffith has been brought to the attention of the Crown Law authorities by the Chief Electoral Officer, and I understand that certain action is pending. In the opinion of Crown Law authorities, there is open defiance of the Commonwealth Electoral Act. It may be necessary, if the action contemplated is inadequate, for the law to bc amended. Clearly, the Parliament cannot tolerate having its enactments openly defied.
