Mr BRUCE (Flinders) (Prime Minister and Minister for External Affairs) . -I agree with the honorable member for Maribyrnong (Mr.Fenton) that he has referred to a subject of vital importance. I am not in a position at present to make a statement of Australia's attitude in respect to it, and I cannot say that I will be able to do so next week. A committee representative of all the countries which are particularly concerned in beam wireless and cable communications has been sitting in London since January of this year, exploring every angle of the problem. The statements which have so far appeared in the press on the subject are mere guesses, for no one is in a position to speak with authority in regard to it. I assure the honorable member that immediately finality is reached I shall be most anxious to give the House the fullest information on the subject.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

House adjourned at 4.5 p.m.
