Mr HILL - I have been assured by the Main Roads Board that a surveyor was operating for months in the locality concerned. It was on the estimate of that surveyor that the amount of £400,000 was mentioned as the probable cost of constructing 20 miles of road through the worst part of the country which the road to Tumut has to traverse.
