Mr GREGORY (Swan) - Before the question is put, I should like honorable 'members to realize to what extent the prerogatives and privileges of : this Parliament are involved in the decision which has 'just 'been given. The AttorneyGeneral has'taken special exception to an objection against the ruling of -the Chair being dealt with, because it was not stated immediately that ruling was given, and did not, therefore, comply with the Standing Orders.

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN - The 'honorable member is again out of order.

Mr GREGORY - I . am now speaking to . the clause itself, and incidentally drawing attention to the attitude- which has been adopted by the Attorney-General. I want honorable members to realize in what way their interests may be affected in the future.

Question - That the new clause be postponed - resolved in the negative.

Proposed new clause agreed to.

Amendment (by Mr. Paterson) ; proposed -

That the following new clause be added to the bill- " 5. ' This act shall be construed and read as one with >the principal act."
