Mr WATSON (FREMANTLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister for Markets, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that the present season is so favorable in the three principal butterproducing States that there is a large surplus of butter over Australian requirements?

2.   Is it a fact that large quantities of this surplus are being exported to a depressed British market?

3.   Is it a fact that quantities of New Zealand butter are being imported into Australia ?

4.   If so, will the Minister inform the House how the importation of New Zealand butter into Australia under present conditions can be justified?
