Mr WATT - 'The taxpayer is not expected to make any calculations, the beauty of the curve being that if the taxpayer does endeavour to use it to illumine his darkness he is bound to be in error.


Mr Falkiner - I do not think that the Treasurer understands it.


Mr WATT - That is quite true. The assessment officers do not in the ordinary acceptation of the term make calculations. There is prepared for them a ready reckoner, of which I shall bring a copy to the House when the curve is under consideration, to show how easy the system is when you' understand it:
