Mr GROOM (for Mr. John Thomson) asked the Treasurer, upon notice -

1.   Is separation allowance only payable to wives of soldiers who enlisted after 1st May, 1915, and not to wives of those who enlisted before that date?

2.   If so, on what grounds can discrimination be established between soldiers enlisting early in the war and those enlisting subsequent to 1st May?

3.   Will the Prime Minister see that every consideration is given, by the removal of such discrimination, to the dependants of those who were first to answer the country's call?
