Mr KING O'MALLEY (DARWIN, TASMANIA) - In view of the fact that it only costs about one-half the amount to supply a soldier with a Scottish kilt, as compared with the price of an ordinary uniform, will the Naval Minister consider the advisability of sending all the troops to the front in kilts?

Mr Fowler - You do not know what you are talking about. There is three times as much cloth in a kilt as would make a suit of clothes for any man.
