Mr ARCHIBALD - The evidence to be called at such inquiries is a matter which the Committee, not the Department, decides. It may, however, be pointed out that Dr. Cumpston, Director of Public Health for the Territory, who is personally well acquainted with the locality, having given evidence on the medical aspect of the sewerage schemes, the Department would not be likely to suggest that any subordinate officer be called.
