Mr JOSEPH COOK - Many weeks ago the present Acting Prime Minister promised that he would convene a conference between the Postmaster-General and the Minister of Defence in regard to ihe despatch and delivery of letters to troops at the front. We have been promised for many months a rectification of grievances in this regard, and I should like either the Postmaster-General or the Assistant Minister of Defence to make a definite statement to the House as to what are the arrangements for the delivery of these mails, and what is proposed to remedy the present intolerablestate of affairs. Can the PostmasterGeneral give me any information on the subject? I have relatives at the front who have not had a letter since they have been there.
