Mr ARCHIBALD (HINDMARSH, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) (Minister for Home Affairs) - The heavy expenditure involved is not at present considered justifiable in view of the fact that a notice is issued to every person whose name is removed from the roll, and that an acknowledgment is sent to every person at the time of his enrolment. The matter will, however, receive further consideration in connexion with the movement now in progress for co-operation in the preparation, maintenance, and printing of joint Commonwealth and State electoral rolls.
