Mr BRUCE SMITH (PARKES, NEW SOUTH WALES) - It was circumstantially stated in the press yesterday that no one could obtain a position of clerk in connexion with the Defence Department until he had joined a union. I should like to ask the Assistant Minister of Defence if we may take it that no employment will be given to anybody, even in matters of defence, unless he belongs to a union ?
