Mr ARCHIBALD - The answers to the honorable member's questions are -

1.   Depot has been formed at Pine Creek. Buildings have been erected and sidings constructed. Areas have been cleared and prepared for stacking grounds. The clearing of line is practically complete for whole distance to the Katherine River. Earthworks are complete or well in hand for a distance of twenty miles. The waterways are practically complete for ten miles. Bridges are well in hand. Approximately one mile of platelaying has been laid by trolley. Regular platelaying will commence towards the end of June. The whole of the rails and fastenings and 27,000 steel sleepers have been received. The remainder of the sleepers is now being supplied. It is anticipated that the line will be completed by the middle of theyear 1916.
