Sir JOHN FORREST asked the Minister of Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   What is the present position of the contract with the Government of Western Australia, as to the supply of 500,000 powellised karri sleepers?

2.   Is the supply of 50,000 sleepers monthly, as agreed to, being complied with, and how many powellised karri sleepers have been delivered at Kalgoorlie or Port Augusta?

3.   How many of these sleepers have actually been laid?

4.   What mileage of rails and sleepers are in stock, and on the ground at Kalgoorlie and Port Augusta?

5.   What is the mileage of rails and sleepers yet to be obtained, and has any delay occurred, or is any likely to occur by reason of any shortage in delivery?
