Mr BAMFORD asked the Minister of Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Whether the Minister is aware chat it is stated that; in collecting names for the electoral rolls in Queensland, the word "permanent" in regard to residence has been inserted in Form A?

2.   Whether this insertion has been made by the authority or with the knowledge of the Minister?

3.   If not inserted by permission of the Minister, will he take such steps as may be necessary to insure that the spirit of the Federal Electoral Act, whichprovides that six months residence is sufficient to qualify for a vote, be maintained in the collection of the rolls?

4.   If the Minister has authorized the use of the word " permanent," will he give his reasons for so doing ?

5.   If the Minister has not authorized the use of the word "permanent" in Form A, will he ascertain by whose authority the word has been inserted ?

6.   If names have been excluded from the rolls, as alleged, on the ground that the applicants are not permanent residents of the locality in which the applications have been made, will the Minister issue instructions that the names of such persons be at once included in the rolls?
