Mr REID - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follow : -

1.   The Cabinet, as I said on Friday, in answer to the honorable member for Corio, have not adopted any fixed rule in dealing with the tenders. They consider that each tender should be dealt with on its merits, with a constant desire to give preference to articles of local production in every reasonable way.

2.   Answered by answer to No. 1.

3.   I know of no legislation which interferes with the course we propose to take.
