Mr McCAY - The General Officer Commanding has not made any request or suggestion to the Government that his term of office should be extended. On the contrary, some time ago, he asked that the usual arrangements might be made to enable him to return to England in the usual way at the termination of his command, and such arrangements have been proceeded with.
