Mr MAUGER (MELBOURNE PORTS, VICTORIA) - I wish to ask the Min ister of Home Affairs whether he will insist upon the union minimum rates of wages being paid to the carpenters, and others who are working upon the" new offices of the Commonwealth in Russell-street? It has come to my knowledge that the rates now being paid are in some cases1s. or 2s. per day lower than those which are generally recognised in the trades to which the workmen belong.
