Mr MAHON (COOLGARDIE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) (Postmaster-General) - The answers to the honorable and learned member's questions are as follow : -

1.   Yes.

2.   They are not paid directly by the Federal Government for such services, but the Commissioners for Railways are paid for the services rendered to the Postmaster-General's Department by all their officers.

3.   Such inquiry will be made when a new agreement is entered into between the Department and the Commissioners ; hitherto the Commissioners have declined to allow payment to be made except through them.
