Mr BRUCE SMITH (PARKES, NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister of External Affairs, upon notice -

1.   Is it not a fact that the correspondence between the late Minister of External Affairs and the German Consul for Australia, in regard to the deportation of one Stelling, has led to diplomatic communications between the German and the British Governments concerning certain expressions used in that correspondence reflecting on the Consul named ?

2.   Will he state whether the difference has been settled, and how it has been effected?
