Mr BROWN (CANOBOLAS, NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister for Home Affairs, upon notice -

1.   When and why did Mr. Furber resign the> office of secretary of the Federal Capital Sites Commission ?

2.   What interim took place between the resignation of Mr. Furber and the appointment o£ Mr. Mills as secretary to this Commission ?

3.   What were the conditions of Mr. Mills'' appointment as secretary to this Commission, and what amount has been paid in connexion with this appointment ?

4.   Is it a fact that Air. Mills did not accompany the Commission on its inspection of the sites referred to it by Parliament, and yet was permitted to assist in compiling the Commissioners' report ?

5.   Is Mr. Mills' appointment as secretary inthe Department of Customs a reward for services rendered to the Federal Capital Sites Commission ?
