Mr HUGHES (WEST SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) - As it is exceedingly improbable that the Defence Bill will be proceeded with this session, I desire to ask the Acting Minister for Defence whether he proposes that any arrangements that he may make in connexion with the defence forces shall be of a tentative character, or whether he proposes to take such action as may be irrevocable, even though at a later stage the Defence Bill may provide for an entirely different condition of affairs.
