Mr G B EDWARDS (SOUTH SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I should like to ask why the provisions of Standing Order 203 have not been complied with in connexion with the preparation of the Message which is to be forwarded to the Senate. That standing order provides that reasons shall be given for disagreeing with amendments made by the other Chamber.

Mr McCay - That refers to amendments ; we have been dealing with requests only.

Mr G B EDWARDS (SOUTH SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) - My impression is that the standing order would extend to modifications made by us in the amendments requested by the Senate.
