Mr WILLIS (ROBERTSON, NEW SOUTH WALES) - Does- the honorable and learned gentleman think the explanation sufficient 1

Mr DEAKIN - I said that this is the gross amount- to cover expenses of the kind. All the expenditure that has taken place -under the item has been in connexion with one or two visits to Sydney and one to Adelaide. 'Those visits were necessitated by litigation which was going on in the 'Commonwealth, or- were for the purpose of enabling consultations to take place with the State -law officers. Speaking from -memory, I do nob think' that we have expended £100 OUt of the vote.

Proposed vote agreed to.
