 25 DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE—OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE

The House was informed that Mr Latham (Leader of the Opposition) had proposed that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely, "The Howard Government's failure to provide adequate opportunities for the Australian people, particularly in health, education and community services".

The proposed discussion having received the necessary support—

Mr Latham addressed the House.
