 12 AUSTRALIA'S DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION PROGRAM—MINISTERIAL STATEMENT—MOTION TO TAKE NOTE OF PAPER

Mr Downer (Minister for Foreign Affairs), by leave, made a ministerial statement on Australia's Development Cooperation Program and presented the following paper:

Twelfth Annual Statement to Parliament on Australia's Development Cooperation Program—AusAID.

Mr Downer moved—That the House take note of the paper.

Suspension of standing and sessional orders—Time for speech

Ms Gallus (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs), by leave, moved—That so much of the standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent Mr Rudd speaking for a period not exceeding 17 minutes.

Question—put and passed.

Mr Rudd addressed the House.

Debate adjourned (Mr Downer), and the resumption of the debate made an order of the day for the next sitting.
