TRANSPORT SAFETY INVESTIGATION BILL 2002

The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question—That the Bill be now read a second time—And on the amendment moved thereto by Mr M. J. Ferguson viz.—That all words after "That" be omitted with a view to substituting the following words: "whilst not declining to give the bill a second reading, the House:

(1) condemns the Minister for Transport and Regional Services for botching the whole Auslink policy process which will clearly impact on the safety and efficiency of transport; and

(2) calls on the Government to bring more old fashioned honesty, integrity and leadership to the debate on how to provide transport and infrastructure needs for the safety, prosperity and well-being of this and future generations"—

Debate resumed.

Amendment negatived.

Question—put and passed—Bill read a second time.

Consideration in detail
