SUSPENSION OF STANDING ORDERS MOVED

Mr S. F. Smith moved—That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent the Member for Perth moving forthwith a motion that the House notes that the Auditor-General's report, just ordered to be printed, discloses the following serious findings:

(1) the Government's decision on the eve of the election to fund $5 million for a building in Canberra by taking $1 million from asthma programs and $4 million from rural and regional health programs was taken against the express advice of the Department of Finance and Administration; and

(2) that the Prime Minister provided such advice to that effect from the Department of Finance and Administration to the Auditor-General on 17 March, two months ago.
