PRIVILEGE—COMPLAINT OF BREACHMr L. D. T. Ferguson raised a matter of privilege in connection with newspaper articles published over the weekend in the Adelaide Advertiserand today in the Sydney Morning Heraldand the Daily Telegraphwhich he said appeared to reveal a number of recommendations of a report of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters before today's tabling of the report. Papers Mr L. D. T. Ferguson produced the following papers: Coalition to roll out ID test for election—Copy of article by Michelle Grattan, Sydney Morning Herald, 18 June 2001. Photo ID plan to stamp out voting rorts—Copy of article by Sue Dunlevy, Daily Telegraph, 18 June 2001. The Speaker stated that he would consider the matter and report to the House at a later time. | |
