DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE—PHARMACEUTICAL BENEFITS SCHEME

The House was informed that Ms Macklin had proposed that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely, "The Government's maladministration of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme including its failure to list Celebrex at a cost effective price on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, causing a blowout in the health budget and a lost opportunity to adequately fund public hospitals".

The proposed discussion having received the necessary support—
