PRIVILEGE—COMPLAINT OF BREACH

Mr Pyne referred to the matter of privilege he had raised earlier. Mr Pyne said that he had been threatened and intimidated by the Members for Rankin and Lilley yesterday.

Member ordered to withdraw

At 3.32 p.m. the Member for Batman (Mr M. J. Ferguson) was ordered, under standing order 304A, to withdraw from the House for one hour for refusing to withdraw a remark, and he accordingly withdrew from the Chamber.

Mr Emerson, by indulgence, made a statement on the matter.

The Speaker stated that he would consider the matter raised, and would allow the Member for Lilley to speak to him on the matter and that he would report to the House at a later time.
