DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE—AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION

The House was informed that Mr Smith had proposed that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely, "The adverse consequences for the Australian community of the government's sustained financial and political attacks on the ABC".

The proposed discussion having received the necessary support—
