PROPOSED DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE—MEDICARE REBATES FOR MRI MACHINES

The House was informed that Ms Macklin had proposed that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely, "The failure of the Government to adequately safeguard the interests of Australian taxpayers in negotiating the introduction of Medicare rebates for MRI machines as part of the 1998 Budget".
