FURTHER 1998 BUDGET MEASURES LEGISLATION AMENDMENT (SOCIAL SECURITY) BILL 1999—SENATE[quot ]S REQUESTS

The order of the day having been read for the consideration of the amendments requested by the Senate—

Mr Anthony (Minister for Community Services) moved—That the requested amendments be made.

Debate ensued.

Mr Anthony moved—That the question be now put.

And the question—That the requested amendments be made—was put accordingly and passed.


On the motion of Mr Anthony, Government amendments (1) to (3) were made together.

Mr Anthony presented a supplementary explanatory memorandum to the Bill.

Mr Anthony moved—That in the message returning the Bill to the Senate, the Senate be requested to reconsider the Bill in respect of the amendments made by the House of Representatives to the Bill.
