WHEAT FREIGHT SUBSIDY

Ms O[quot ]Byrne, pursuant to notice, moved—That the House:

(1) draws to the attention of the Government the vital role that the Wheat Freight Subsidy plays in Tasmania in underpinning up to 1600 jobs in the baking, chicken, stockfeed and pork sectors; and

(2) calls for the Government to extend the Wheat Freight Subsidy Scheme for a further three years on a calendar year basis to provide essential industry security.

Debate ensued.
