21       Electoral Legislation Amendment (Contingency Measures) Bill 2021

A message from the House of Representatives was reported transmitting for the concurrence of the Senate the following bill:

Message no. 520, dated 1 December 2021—A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to elections in respect of postal votes, adjournments and emergencies and to provide for the application of the amendments.

The Assistant Minister for Forestry and Fisheries (Senator Duniam) moved—That this bill may proceed without formalities and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bill read a first time.

Senator Duniam moved—That this bill be now read a second time.

Explanatory memorandum : Senator Duniam tabled a revised explanatory memorandum relating to the bill.

Debate ensued.
