6 Selection of Bills—Standing Committee—Report no. 4 of 2023
The Chair of the Selection of Bills Committee (Senator Urquhart) tabled the following report:
SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE
REPORT NO. 4 of 2023
1. The committee met in private session on Wednesday, 29 March 2023 at 7.16 pm.
2. The committee recommends that—
(a) the Digital Assets (Market Regulation) Bill 2023 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 2 August 2023;
(b) the provisions of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Protecting Worker Entitlements) Bill 2023 be referred immediately to the Education and Employment Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 28 April 2023;
(c) the provisions of the Nature Repair Market Bill 2023 and the Nature Repair Market (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2023 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 1 August 2023;
(d) the provisions of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility Amendment (Miscellaneous Measures) Bill 2023 be referred immediately to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 4 May 2023; and
(e) the provisions of the Treasury Laws Amendment (Refining and Improving Our Tax System) Bill 2023 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 28 April 2023.
3. The committee recommends that the following bills not be referred to committees:

5. The committee considered the National Security Legislation Amendment (Comprehensive Review and Other Measures No. 2) Bill 2023 but was unable to reach agreement.
