CONSTITUTIONAL RECOGNITION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT—JOINT SELECT COMMITTEE—VARIATION OF APPOINTMENT

A message from the House of Representatives was reported as follows:

 Message no. 574, dated 5 February 2013—Joint Select Committee on Constitutional Recognition of Local Government,

and transmitting for the concurrence of the Senate the following resolution:

 That paragraph (13) of the resolution of appointment of the Joint Select Committee on Constitutional Recognition of Local Government be amended to read:

 The Committee may report from time to time but that it present a preliminary report no later than December 2012 if possible, and a final report no later than March 2013.

The Minister for Sport (Senator Lundy), by leave, moved—That the Senate concurs with the resolution of the House of Representatives relating to the variation of appointment of the Joint Select Committee on Constitutional Recognition of Local Government.

Debate ensued.
