Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting

for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

Message no. 679, dated 28 November 1995--A Bill for an Act to

appropriate money out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to

the money appropriated by the Appropriation (Parliamentary

Departments) Act 1995-96, for certain expenditure in relation to the

Parliamentary Departments in respect of the year ending on 30 June

1996, and for related purposes.

Message no. 678, dated 28 November 1995--A Bill for an Act to

appropriate money out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to

the money appropriated by the Appropriation Act (No. 1) 1995-96, for

the service of the year ending on 30 June 1996, and for related

purposes.

Message no. 681, dated 29 November 1995--A Bill for an Act to

appropriate money out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to

the money appropriated by the Appropriation Act (No. 2) 1995-96, for

certain expenditure in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1996, and

for related purposes.

The Minister for Industry, Science and Technology (Senator Cook)

moved--That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken

together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Cook moved--That these bills be now read a second time.

On the motion of Senator O'Chee the debate was adjourned.

On the motion of Senator Cook the resumption of the debate was made an
