PETITIONS

The following 11 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senator Kernot, 2 petitions similar in wording from 47 and 2 093

petitioners and Senator Watson, 1 petition from 777 petitioners

requesting that the Senate reject the proposed extension of wholesale

sales tax to building products.

Senators Herron and O'Chee, from 428 and 254 petitioners,

respectively, requesting that the Senate call on the Minister for

Human Services and Health to withdraw her endorsement of the sex guide

published in the December 1994 issue of Cleo magazine.

Senator Lees, from 17 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to protect all Australia's remaining natural heritage forests

and implement sustainable plantation forestry practices.

Senator Lees, from 90 petitioners requesting that the Senate oppose

attempts by the Government to raise the pension age for women from 60

to 65 years.

Senator Minchin, from 2 152 petitioners requesting that the Senate

amend the Childcare Rebate Act and the Social Security (Home Child

Care and Partner Allowances) Legislation Amendment Act to ensure that

all parents with dependent children are treated equally with maximum

freedom of choice.

Senator O'Chee, from 242 petitioners requesting that the Senate

support the present federal system of government in Australia.

Senator Patterson, from 1 664 petitioners requesting that the Senate

take action to reform the Family Law Act and the Child Support Scheme.

Senator Forshaw, from 37 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to remove the 12-hour child care restriction for long day care

based on parents' marital and employment status.
