PETITIONS

The following 7 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senator Calvert, from 1 346 petitioners requesting that the Senate

take action to reform the Family Law Act and the Child Support Scheme.

Senator Ferguson, from 178 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to protect old-growth and wilderness forests by implementing a

comprehensive plantation strategy.

Senator Herron, from 2 646 petitioners requesting that the Senate call

on the Minister for Human Services and Health to withdraw her

endorsement of the sex guide published in the December 1994 issue of

Cleo magazine.

Senator Kernot, from 84 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to apply conditions retrospectively to woodchip licences to

meet Commonwealth obligations and exclude old-growth forests and

wilderness areas.

Senator Kernot, from 15 petitioners requesting that the Senate take

action to halt the construction of the marina and access channel at

Oyster Point.

Senator Woodley, from 3 966 petitioners requesting that the Senate

take action to make a widows allowance available to women over 50 who

were widowed, separated or divorced after they turned 40 years of age.

Senator Kernot, from 2 931 petitioners requesting that the Senate

reject the proposed extension of wholesale sales tax to building

products.
